Competition - the Ploß & Co. teak seed

We include a small cotton bag with three teak seeds (botan. Tectona grandis) with each item of massive teak wood furniture. Teak is a cultivated plant from the plantations of Indonesia that grows to the size of a pansy in just a few days. The teak plant is the same height as an adult person after only six months.

We can’t guarantee that our seeds will grow this quickly but a small teak plant will germinate in our climate.

And because we are also interested in your efforts, we reward the best home-grown plant with a top-quality deck chair every year.

Planting tips:
Plant the seeds in nutrient-rich soil. To create the ideal, tropical climate, place in a warm, sunny position (above a radiator during winter) and keep moist at all times. In our experience, the seeds fare well when they germinate in a humid environment: place the plant pot under a cheese cover or in a greenhouse.


When the seedlings are slightly bigger, the plant will continue to grow without this tropical environment. However, be sure to protect them from the cold.
